Wolves pound sloppy 76ers, set season-high for points in win

The Minnesota Timberwolves set a season-high for points in a game, and tied a season-high for points in a half, scoring 70 in the first, in a 126-95 win in Philadelphia Monday.

Minnesota saw seven players reach double-figures in scoring, led by Kevin Love's 26 points, and the Wolves shot an absurd 16-of-26 from beyond the arc to ensure the 76ers wouldn't be able to keep up with the league's second-most powerful offense.

Combine Minnesota's hot shooting from deep with the sheer volume of shots they amassed (100 to Philly's 80) and add that to 22 Philadelphia turnovers, and you had a recipe for the Wolves to get back to an even 17-17 on the season.

Minnesota frontcourt man Ronny Turiaf, who hadn't played since breaking his elbow on a nasty fall in the Wolves second game of the year, returned to the lineup to produce nine rebounds and two blocks in 23 minutes.

The 126 points is a season-high for Minnesota, topping their previous high of 124 against New Orleans on the first of the year, despite being without Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who missed the game with a strained left groin.

The win snaps Philadelphia's four-game win streak, and the Wolves look to continue their winning ways Wednesday against Phoenix at Target Center.
