Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio will undergo surgery next Wednesday in Colorado to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced. Rubio's season ended on March 9 after a collision with L.A.'s Kobe Bryant at Target Center.

Rubio expected back in 6-9 months

The discovery of a torn lateral collateral ligament to go along with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Ricky Rubio's left knee isn't going to extend his time away from the court. The Timberwolves say Rubio is still expected to miss between six and nine months.
