No. 18 Wolverines defeat Gophers
The University of Minnesota didn't get its first Big Ten win of the season against No. 18 Michigan Sunday. Julian Welch and Rodney Williams each had 11 points in the 61-56 loss to the Wolverines. This was Michigan's seventh straight victory. The Gophers (12-3, 0-2 Big Ten) host Iowa on Wednesday.

The Golden Gopher wrestling team is ranked third in the country and they'll put their power on the mat against two great opponents this weekend. On Friday they wrestle against No. 5 Cornell. They follow that up with a match against No. 2 Penn State on Sunday.
Gophers defeat Huskies, 2-1
The No. 3-rated Gophers (18-9-1, 14-5-0) ended their Friday night losing streak at Mariucci Arena with a 2-1 victory over St. Cloud State (10-13-4, 7-9-3). Nick Bjugstad scored the game-winning goal about halfway through the second period. U of M will travel to the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud Saturday night for the second half of this home-and-home series.
Michigan State upsets No. 3 Gophers, 4-3
Michigan State won the opening game of the weekend series against the Gophers 4-3 Friday night. The University of Minnesota went down 2-0 in the first period, and despite a furious rally in the third period, failed to come back and win. Nick Bjugstad scored two goals for the Gophers.
