You won't believe how long the line for tickets to the high school hockey games got

It's the hottest ticket in town right now.

We mentioned earlier this week that tickets to the Class AA boys' state hockey tournament are darn near impossible to get, and that was certainly the case Friday for the semifinal games at Xcel Energy Center.

Just look at how long of a line hopeful fans were willing to wait through on Friday, with plenty of them undoubtedly going home empty handed.

If we're not mistaken, the video from Zach Halverson begins somewhere on the south side of the St. Paul RiverCentre and goes all the way through the Kellogg Lobby until reaching the ticket windows inside Gate 1 of the Xcel Energy Center.

It's crazy, but as Halverson said in another tweet, the line this year was shorter than he's seen in years past.

But it's the only way fans can get tickets to the AA games because most of the tickets are sold out in advance. In fact, there's a five-year waiting list for tournament passes that get fans access to every AA game.

Hockey tourney attendance blew away most NHL games

More than 19,000 fans packed the X for the two semifinal games Friday night, and it'll be sold out again Saturday night for the championship game between No. 1 Minnetonka and No. 3 Duluth East.
