The sheriff, who was recently convicted of drunk-driving, is set to stand down later this year.

Prosecutors say he was drunk while fleeing police on the wrong side of the highway.

The complaint alleges he caused a wrong-way crash, then drove around an officer that tried to stop him.

"I would say that it is time for him to resign," the Lt. Gov. said.

Taken together, the files provide a clearer picture of what exactly happened the morning of Dec. 8.
