Minneapolis woman faces sex trafficking charges after missing teens found

Meranda Warborg, 32, from Minneapolis is being charged with two felony counts of sex trafficking and two felony counts of solicitation and promotion of prostitution, after two missing teen girls from Wisconsin were allegedly discovered with her in a Twin Cities apartment. A criminal complaint said the teens, ages 15 and 17, were featured in a Backpage.com advertisement posing in suggestive positions.

Police used immigration paperwork to determine their ages, but attorneys say that information is routinely wrong because of cultural and language issues. Now some of the defendants are asking the judge to dismiss the charges because they never had juvenile status hearings.
