Timberwolves' head coach Rick Adelman supports J.J. Barea expressing his frustration like he did following Sunday's embarrassing loss to the Warriors. Barea said "a lot of guys don't care." Adelman says, "People should get mad" and "young players sometimes have to learn that."
With only two games left this season the Timberwolves are shutting down Kevin Love and Luke Ridnour. Head coach Rick Adelman says, "It's just best for both of them not to push it." Love suffered a concussion and strained neck earlier this month and Ridnour has battled an ankle injury over the last month as well.
If there’s a Timberwolves’ doghouse, Darko Milicik is in it. Even with Nikola Pekovic injured last night, Darko was on the bench in Minnesota’s loss to San Antonio. Coach Rick Adelman told the Star Tribune afterwards that Milicik hasn’t done much to prove he can “do the job.”
Minnesota (22-23) will visit Sacramento Sunday night following their 19th straight loss to the L.A. Lakers Friday night. Coach Rick Adelman said "if you want to be in the playoff race, you have to go out and play like you really want to stay in it." The Wolves are on a seven-game road trip, with four games remaining.
The Timberwolves believe opposing defenses are being too rough on rookie point guard Ricky Rubio. To get their point to the league, Wolves' president of basketball operations David Kahn sent video examples of Rubio being muscled around. Head coach Rick Adelman says Rubio is "learning on the fly" to deal with the physical play.
