Vanilla Bean restaurant closing Duluth location

The restaurant will close at the end of the month after six years in business.

An established North Shore breakfast and lunch restaurant is closing its Duluth location.

Vanilla Bean in Duluth will close Sunday, Feb. 25 after six years in business, according to owners Jason Vincent and Jeff Anderson.

In a Facebook post, they shared the closure will provide an opportunity to refocus on their other three businesses: the longtime Vanilla Bean in Two Harbors, Boat Club Restaurant and Bar in Duluth and local tour company JayBee Travel.

“Our landmark restaurant in Two Harbors is still going strong and will continue to operate just as it has for almost 26 years,” the post reads.

The closure announcement also hints at a new restaurant opening soon in the Vanilla Bean space within the Mount Royal Market.

“We were approached by two young entrepreneurs looking for a restaurant space of their own and have since worked out an arrangement for them to take over our space and bring their new, exciting vision to life,” Vincent and Anderson wrote. “When they are ready to announce their plans, we will make sure to share and give them all the support they will need.”
