A crazy rescue of bobcat saw the cat removed from the front grill of a car by police and DNR officers in Wisconsin this past week.
Portage County Sheriff Mike Lukas posted body camera footage of the incident on Facebook, showing the bobcat laying beneath the hood of the Toyota. Lukas said dispatch received a call from someone stating: “I have a bobcat in my car.”
“As you can imagine the shock they were in when lo and behold there was a bobcat in the vehicle,” Lukas said.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office used a catch pole to remove the bobcat, which leapt into the air as it was placed in the a pickup truck’s bed. The sheriff’s office called in Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources officer Warden Lockman to assist.
“As you can see on the bodycam footage, Warden Lockman was a pro at getting the critter out and in his truck and returned it to the wild,” Lukas said.
Portage County is located just north of Madison, Wisconsin.
