Revival for Revival after brand is bought by Twin Cities restaurant group
The popular Twin Cities restaurant brand Revival, which closed all of its locations suddenly earlier this year, is set for a comeback.
The Southern-inspired restaurant brand owned by Thomas Boemer and Nick Rancone shuttered its doors at all of its metro locations in January after nearly a decade in business.
It's now been bought by Jester Concepts, the restaurant group behind acclaimed Twin Cities restaurants Borough, Parlour, P.S. Steak, and Starling, which includes Revival's proprietary recipes, name, logo, website, and social media handles.
Revival will return with its food truck as soon as this Friday outside Wooden Ship Brewing in southwest Minneapolis and Steel Toe Brewing in St. Louis Park on Saturday, and will be back at U.S. Bank Stadium for the upcoming Vikings season.
Jester is also "actively scouting locations for the first Jester-owned brick-and-mortar Revival." Former owners Boemer and Rancone have been brought on as consultants.
"We are so very excited to add Revival to the Jester family," says Brent Frederick, Jeser Concepts owner. "We have known Nick and Thomas for years and have admired them and their brand from afar. We’re looking forward to the next chapter of Revival and having the chance to share that with the Twin Cities."
Boemer said: "I’m so happy to see Revival reborn in the hands of friends and industry veterans at Jester Concepts. Revival will live again!"
The purchase marks Jester's third acquisition, following purchases of bakery brand Rustica in 2014 and Butcher & The Boar in 2021.
At the time of its closure, Revival had restaurants in Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, St. Paul and the Market at Malcolm Yards food hall.
