This Twin Cities ice cream shop called the best in Minnesota
The best ice cream shop in Minnesota is in the Twin Cities, according to the Daily Meal.
The website came up with its list of the best ice cream shops in each state based on online reviews, social media, local publications and word-of-mouth tips.
And for Minnesota, it listed Izzy's Ice Cream in St. Paul as the best scoop. Although the St. Paul shop closed in April, the Minneapolis location is still open (albeit, it's for sale, but they're still making ice cream that can be shipped nationally, according to the shop's website).
"As the classic saying goes, it’s all about the cherry on top. But in Minnesota, it’s the Izzy on top — a 3/4-ounce scoop to finish your dessert off. That means if you order a scoop of vanilla, you can top it off with a tiny scoop of another flavor on the menu, such as Graham Cracker, Butter Caramel Salted Swirl or Caramelia Cookie Crunch," Daily Meal said.
The Daily Meal says the best scoop in Wisconsin is Kelley Country Creamery in Fond du Lac. In Iowa, it says Whitey's Ice Cream in Bettendorf. Pride Dairy in Bottineau, North Dakota, is listed as the best there, while Armadillo's Ice Cream Shoppe in Rapid City is South Dakota's best.
